Job Title:

Part Time Internship Opportunity-Networking Focus

Job Summary:

The selected candidate will provide day to day support to the Broadband Solutions Engineering team with respect to new product testing, quality assurance testing, and product issue replication.

Primary Functions:

·    Taking new networking technologies and setting them up in a test environment to discover bugs and documenting them
·    Taking products home to beta test in real case scenarios
·    Work with Product Managers with product ideas and features
·    Assist Product Managers to revamp technical documents and materials such as quick start guides and user guides for accuracy with product
·    Confirm website accuracy in messaging and technical specs
·    Online research of products and competition

Qualification Skills:

·    Proficiency with Networking and working with routers, firewalls, wireless network technologies
·    Able to test different application and network scenarios to see if there are any product usage bugs
·    Must be able to communicate (listen, speak and write) effectively
·    Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize workload
·    Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point

 

What we’re looking for:

You’re going to be working with our Product Management team, helping them with the beta testing of new networking technologies and products, competitive technical market research, and keeping our public and internal facing technical documentation up to date.  You will get your hands on new products to find out if you can break the product functionally, report and document the issues, and work with the product management team to a resolution.  You will also be asked to review documentation for accuracy in the installation instructions.

Job Title:

Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

ZyXEL Communications’ Broadband Solutions Engineering team is looking for a Systems Engineer to support our ADSL2+ and VDSL2 CPE projects. We have a team of System Engineers who have a full view of technical and project processes. Therefore, the ideal candidate will need to have interdisciplinary experiences to CPE support in Tier 3 Escalation, Field Application Engineering, and Project Development.

Primary Functions:

Must already possess in-depth knowledge and be able to troubleshoot efficiently in the following areas

• ADSL2+/VDSL2 physical layer protocols
• ADSL2+/VDSL2 bonding
• ATM/PTM
• TR-069/TR-64
• TR-100/TR-114
• IGMP and Multicast Protocol as it relates to IPTV
• 802.1q
• IPv6
• SIP or H.248 Protocol

Along with technical support background, the ideal candidate will need to interface with various departments within ZyXEL to these capacities:

•    Product Development – Planning firmware releases and managing dialogue with key Telco customers for product requirements
•    Field Troubleshooting – Working with on-site engineers remotely or going on-site as field application representatives

Qualification Skills:

• Degree or IT certification (BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering, CCNA, MCSE, Network+ etc.) is a big plus
  
• 5+ years of engineering level support experience
  
• Good verbal and email communication skills
  
• Dynamically adapt to technical situations is highly desired. Being able to comment on other products and the underlying technologies will be a plus
  
• The candidate needs to be a team player and is willing to backup other members without being asked
  
• Flexibility on daily work schedule is desired
  
• There will be some occasions when work related email communications at night is required
  
• Some travel is also required for general customer visits, onsite troubleshooting, and product training
  
• The candidate must be detail oriented and organized
  
• Ability to speak Chinese Mandarin is a major plus
